Me at the Summit of Haleakalā
If you’re reading this post, I can at this time only hope it’s because I’m a wildly successful photographer and that you’ve already read the several hundred other posts that have all come afer this one. However, it’s most likely you stumbled upon my site while looking for landscape photography from southwest Michigan. Whichever the case may be, I’m glad you’re here and are taking the time to look at my photographs and other points of interest on my site.
My name is Norm Barnard and I’m currently a full-time iOS developer and part-time photographer located in Portage Michigan. I’ve been making photographs as a hobby ever since I purchased a used Canon EOS 10s from my local camera store in the late 1990’s (that camera is now long since gone). I’ve owned various cameras over the years and have used color slide film, processed and printed my photos from black and white film, as well as digital imaging. I enjoy photographing the landcapes around me as well as portraits of my friends and family. I tried street photography for a few years, but eventually realized that it’s just not me.
About this Blog
I have a personal goal to transition away from software development and into a more creative career as a photographer. I’m not sure at this point what shape that career will take, be it fine art, travel, portraiture and weddings, or some combination thereof. Regardless, this blog will, if I do it right, be chronicle of my journey.
